1/3/2024 0 Comments Chopper 2However, for larger households or entertaining friends, you may need a chopper that can handle four cups of ingredients or more. If you’re typically prepping meals for one or two people, a 1.5-cup version may do the trick. Capacity can vary greatly from one chopper to the next. Some clamp-based choppers have a tray beneath to catch your chopped ingredients, keeping messes to a minimum. Instead of limiting yourself to only the items you can slip into the bowl, you’ll be able to slide large chunks of food inside. A bowl design will contain everything in one place for easy cleanup, but a clamp design can be much more versatile. Many choppers are made similar to a waffle or panini iron, with both the lid and base clamping together to chop the items between them.Įach design has its own benefits. You’ll see several different design options, including those that confine all the food you’re chopping to a big bowl. Today’s manufacturers use extra-sharp blades and sophisticated design to give your produce the same crisp cuts you’d get using a sharp knife.Ĭhoosing the right food chopper can be a process. If you haven’t tried a food chopper in a while, you may not realize how far they’ve come. In a tech-driven era, it seems like there should be an easier way than simply slicing using a knife and cutting board.įood choppers have been around for years, but previous iterations have produced soggy results. But note that because of the small size of the mini food processor, the shredder and slicer generally work only with narrow foods like carrots and celery.Unless you’re a professional chef, you probably don’t enjoy spending hours in the kitchen chopping vegetables. These models are versatile and will have you reaching for them more often. ✔️ Additional features: Some mini food processors come with disks that allow you to slice and shred. Look for models with at least high and low speeds for control when working with tough or delicate items. Our pros prefer those with a pulse function, which allows you to better control your chopping and prevents over-processing. ✔️ Controls and speeds: Look for simple controls like large buttons or an easy-to-turn dial - some even operate just by pressing the top of the device. Pay attention to how the lid locks on as well: You want a tight seal so you can make a vinaigrette and puree sauces. You want the bowl to be compact enough that all the ingredients will reach the blade, but not so small that you have to chop in a million batches. ✔️ Size and seal: A 2-cup capacity is ideal for a mini food processor. This list includes some of our top-tested favorites as well picks that we haven't yet gotten our hands on but that come from Lab-trusted brands we've thoroughly assessed based on years of experience with kitchen appliances. In recent years, we've tested over 30 food processors, including mini versions. For this list, we focused solely on stand-alone mini food processors - but many immersion blenders come with quality processing attachments with a similar capacity, and some full-size food processors come with a second, smaller bowl (though we've found they are more prone to leaking). When we test food processors, we look for models that chop evenly, have intuitive controls and are easy to clean. The Good Housekeeping Institute Kitchen Appliances and Innovation Lab experts test all kinds of products for prepping food. They mean you don't have to have great skills with a chef's knife and are easier to clean than a blender. Mini food processors are also useful for smaller batches of items, like herbs, nuts, salsas, pestos and vinaigrettes as well as tasks like prepping homemade baby food. A full-size food processor can be worth the kitchen real estate, but it has a large footprint, which is less ideal for apartment kitchens or dorm rooms. Whether you're just chopping an onion for a soup, quickly grating some Parmesan or plowing through a mountain of veggies because you meal prep like a pro, a mini food processor is a compact and handy way to speed up your cooking. We removed discontinued products and added new picks from Black + Decker, Zyliss and Hamilton Beach. If you have not paid the cash price in full or have only made a partial payment, a lump sum of interest will be charged to your account. If you have paid the cash price in full before the end of the delayed payment period, you will not pay any interest. What happens after the delayed payment period? You can allocate your payment to the specific BNPL you wish to pay off. How do I make a BNPL payment? To make a full or partial payment simply log into your account. Remember, if you choose not to pay the cash price before the end of the delayed payment period a lump sum of compound interest will be charged to your account. Making partial payments without clearing the cash price in full will reduce the amount of interest charged at the end of the delayed payment period. How to avoid paying interest? You can avoid all of the interest by paying the cash price before the end of the delayed payment period, this can be done in one full payment or multiple partial payments. This means you will pay interest on interest. The interest will be added to your account as a lump sum at the end of the delayed payment period. How is interest calculated? But the preceding climax? Well, if Shia LaBeouf swinging around the jungle with monkeys in Crystal Skull was too silly for you, this'll see you guffaw yourself into an early grave. It's a nice way to end it, with the last shot focusing on Indy's iconic fedora, signposting a final wave goodbye. They have a sweet little dance in the kitchen, and fin. To his deep chagrin, Indy doesn't get to stay: Helena punches his lights out and drags him back to the present, which he grumbles about, but pipes down after he reunites with his old beau Marion (Karen Allen), reminding him that some things are worth living for. Einstein guest spot in Oppenheimer, eat your heart out. It's weirdly moving, but mostly absurdly funny. He's a fairly ordinary old guy, aside from the mathematical wizardry, rushing about an active battle zone in a robe and sandals like a retirement home escapee. Then comes the kicker: Archimedes himself arrives on the scene, great big beard n'all! So Indy gets to actually meet one of his textbook relics in the flesh, jabbering at him in shock. A seemingly mortally injured Indy, alas, wants to stay and soak up the historical scenery. Helena's mischievous kid sidekick Teddy ( Ke Huy Quan for the TikTok age, portrayed by Ethan Isidore) managed to steal a stunt plane and follow them through, thankfully, so he's their ride out. It blows up (RIP Mads), but not before Indy and Fleabag/Helena parachute out to safely in the nick of time. By this point you're already either laughing your arse off or looking at the imaginary bottle in you hand like a movie drunkard, the plane (nay, “dragon”) zipping around the air, getting shot at by Roman hooks and huge arrows. But the second season’s finale was far too brutal to justify more episodes with these tragic, harrowing. The plane emerges not triumphantly above the streets of Berlin but… the seas of Sicily during the Siege of Syracuse, which is where Archimedes died. The ending of Season 1 was enticing, alluring us into a follow-up batch of episodes. That, alas, is not where they end up (if he'd have watched The Last Crusade, he'd know these things tend to end poorly for the bad guys). The finale aka episode 8 titled 'And Salt the Earth Behind You' showed a wide range of emotions and provided zero closure for the troubled characters fans have spent hours over worrying about, but that only heightens. So, what's really going on with Rue? And what might be in store for the other characters in Euphoria? Well, while you'll have to wait to get any concrete answers, fans do have their theories about what went down in "And Salt the Earth Behind You" and where the show will head in Season 2.Cue global adventure with a returning Voller on their heels, until they finally complete the dial in Archimedes' tomb - whose skeleton wears a wristwatch, oooh! 1/3/2024 0 Comments Shatter wax and crumbleTerpenes also play a role in the relative stability of an end product. An extract with decarboxylated THC will be sappier and the same goes for extracts with high CBD. This is because THC, unlike THCA, is an oil at room temperature, not a solid. Have you ever tried decarboxylating your oil to put in edibles? If you have, you are aware that after all the heat, your once rock-hard shatter is now permanently sappy no matter what you do to it. What temperatures your product has been exposed to before and during extraction will affect the consistency. The different components will dictate whether the extract is hard, moldable or sappy. As long as all the components of an extract are still in a single, homogeneous phase, the extract will be transparent. Hash oil is a solution of various compounds found in the cannabis plant and many things can affect how its extract will turn out. This mixture of phases does not allow light to pass through and can have anything from a dry crumbly texture to a peanut butter consistency Shatter, Pull-and-Snap, and Sap When it becomes wax or budder, the cannabinoids crystallize around each other and separate from the terpenes and waxes. In shatter, the cannabinoids (in their natural acid forms), terpenes and waxes are all mixed together in one phase and in a way that allows light to pass through the molecular structure, just like hard candy. This process is analogous to the transformation of shatter into wax. The sugar than crystallizes outwardly from there and from any nucleation point. A bubble, a notch in the container or any irregularity can cause nucleation of the sugar molecules around a nucleation point. Why do the crystals form? If you stir the solution while it is cooking or setting, some of the sugar molecules will bump into each other and crystallize, becoming a half gooey, half crunchy mess, instead of a clean translucent hard candy. It becomes opaque, has a weak, irregular structure and goes bad more quickly. Once crystals form, the candy isn’t hard candy anymore. If the process is disturbed or the candy gets affected during transport and storage, crystals can form in the hard candy. If done correctly, the sugar will dry as it cools and turn into what’s technically a glass. The Hard Candy AnalogyĪ great analogy for the process of making hash oil is making hard candy. So, we’ll break it down for you to understand the difference. This is some pretty hefty materials science jargon. The change from translucent to opaque is the hash oil changing from a single-phase substance (transparent extracts) to a multiphasic, amorphous substance (wax and budder). While wax and budder don’t contain perfect THCA crystals, the analogy applies. The agitation causes the THCA, which is a solid, to precipitate from the rest of the oil and crystallize. Physical agitation, temperature changes and moisture can all cause a translucent oil to change into an opaque wax. There are a number of variables one can manipulate that will affect the texture of hash oil. Extract artist Reme Kilam and High Times Cannabis Science Editor Sirius J teamed up to bridge the gap between wax and shatter. While the potency of wax and shatter is similar (it depends on the starting material), the physical difference between the two has remained a mystery… until now. What is the difference between wax and shatter? Is one or the other more potent? Is either better? While the active ingredients in chemical sunscreens can help keep you protected from sunburn and sun damage, they aren’t necessarily easy on your skin - or your body.īesides the fact that these ingredients could end up seeping into your bloodstream and disrupting your hormones (no good), they can be just plain irritating to sensitive skin. And when it comes to chemical sunscreens, they have active ingredients like oxybenzone, avobenzone, octinoxate, and homosalate, just to name a few. Let’s take a closer look.Īctive ingredients are the ones that do the work of warding off the sun’s rays. This is why it’s so important to choose the right sunscreen for sensitive skin - not just any sunscreen will do. If using a free password generator, do not grant permissions to any web browser to save your passwords, because they often are breached quickly. When creating passwords, people often use phone numbers, social security numbers, postcodes, ID card numbers, house numbers, and birthdays - all of which are easy to guess. Random password generators use passwords that contain at least 16 characters, one uppercase letter, one number, one special symbol, and one lowercase letter. It would be best to never use the same password for various important accounts. Avoid using the most common security questions and answers to make a password strong. Safe password generators make use of cryptographic entropy or randomness. The password generator will create dozens of random passwords consisting of numbers, letters, and symbols that even the most skilled hackers cannot guess. To prevent sophisticated hackers from getting into your accounts, you need to use a random password generator to keep your accounts safe. However, Avast's random password generator allows you to access the power of your own computer to create impossible-to-guess character strings. There is always a chance hackers would access your passwords by guessing human-typed letter and number combinations. Using a random password generator tool like Avast is far preferable to typing a password because it uses truly random symbols and characters. Only mathematical entropy can generate sufficient randomness to avoid a password breach by hackers. Unfortunately, no matter how clever you are, it is impossible for any human being to construct a strong password by typing on a keyboard. The auto password generator is a valuable tool to use when you want to access the power of your computer and its perfect cryptographic power.Įveryone wants to have a strong random password for their important accounts. Avast never generates, sends, receives, nor stores any passwords. These characters are rendered locally on your machine. The Avast password generator instantly renders long and cryptographically secure characters. No matter how clever you think you are, the chances are that a hacker guessing billions of random passwords will crack it. Why? Because humans have predictable patterns when typing on a keyboard. Unfortunately, human-generated passwords are always weak. If you want a strong password, you need to create random passwords using cryptographic entropy. Instead, your device generates the local mathematical entropy to complete the password generate process. Our password creator generates a combination of keys to help you maximize safety and security while logging into different accounts. But the high-pressure system affecting Texas is keeping clouds from forming, which means clear skies but also the prospect of relentless heat from sunshine. In low-pressure systems, the rising air can carry water vapor into the colder reaches of the atmosphere, where it can condense and turn into rain. Meanwhile, powerful high pressure systems can sometimes park themselves over one spot and create what we think of as a heat dome. Low pressure systems, when fueled by a steady diet of summertime heat and warm ocean temperatures, can strengthen to become tropical cyclones like Bret and Cindy. This summer, we’ve seen some of the most extreme versions of high and low pressure systems. Some turn counterclockwise and allow air to flow upward, leading to spots with lower air pressure. Some turn clockwise and force air downward, producing areas with higher air pressure. Doppler observations can also reveal the presence of flocks of birds over Port Phillip Bay, which appear as thin lines, and generally have a higher velocity than the surrounding area.TEXAS HEAT TRACKER: How hot is it in Houston today, and is the temperature normal?Īs the Earth rotates, eddies of dense air circulate in the upper atmosphere. These appear as radials of incorrect Doppler velocities in the area to the northeast of the radar. These echoes may be distinguished from rain as they do not move with the wind and end abruptly at the shoreline of the bay.Doppler observations are occasionally affected by multi path reflections off Melbourne City buildings and approaching rain bands. Because the radar has an unobstructed view of Port Phillip Bay out to about 25km, sea-clutter may be seen over the bay during strong winds. These usually become more noticeable on cold, clear, winter nights or early winter mornings. These echoes usually occur along ridges and peaks as isolated, stationary patches, being most common near the Yarra Ranges to the ENE and Mount Macedon to the north. Occasionally, some permanent echoes will not be completely removed from the display. Non-meteorological aspects In most cases the processing of the radar signal removes permanent echoes caused by obstructions such as hills, buildings and other solid objects rather than rainfall. The location on the floor of a wide basin is ideal for Doppler observations which provide wind speed information. Similarly, cold fronts and associated rain and thunderstorms approaching from the northwest, through west and south are well detected. Summer thunderstorms that develop on the surrounding hills and mountains may be observed in detail. The high ground from the east, through north and to the south west tends to obscure shallow rain falling further away. Meteorological Aspects The radar is well sited to provide very good coverage for the Greater Melbourne Metropolitan Area. The most significant obstructions, starting from the east, are: Mt Dandenong 644m high, 53km to the east Yarra ranges 1219m, 83km to ENE Mt Macedon 1013m, 56km to the north Pentland Hills 763m and the Brisbane ranges 421m, 45km from the NNW through to the west and the You Yangs 363m, 30km to the SW. The Great Dividing Range dominates the topography from the east, through the north to the west. The radar is on a tower 24m above ground level.
